  • Management of a scientific network comprising 15 institutes at 5 faculties of the University of Jena and the University Clinic Jena, 6 non-university research institutions (including Max Planck, Leibniz, Fraunhofer, and Helmholtz institutes), and 12 biotech industry partners (www.jsmc.uni-jena.de)
  • Establishment of a PhD Training Program and a Doctoral Researcher Community for 150+ doctoral researchers and an umbrella organization for a Leibniz Research School, a Max Planck Research School, and a DFG Research Training Group
  • Organization of a broad range of scientific events (symposia, workshops, graduate school retreats, seminar series, board meetings); support of the international Doctoral Researcher Conference MiCom (www.micom.uni-jena.de)
  • International marketing resulting in ~ 9,000 applications from young scientists from over 100 countries to the Graduate School ‘JSMC’
  • Coordination of major funding proposals:
    • Renewal proposal for the Graduate School ‘JSMC’ within the German Excellence Initiative (awarded funding: ~ € 9 million)
